STING WEST TEXAS DIRECTOR OF COACHING VISIT
Matt Pitcock, Director of Coaching for Sting’s newest market, West Texas, is excited about the future of his programs
A member of Sting Soccer for less than a year, Pitcock is proud to share that his 08 boys have made it into The Dallas Cup, the first boy’s team from Sting to do so. He is also happy to report that they are about to start the third consecutive session for their youngest players, The Little Stingers.
On March 9th, Elite Academy Director, Mark Meredith, visited the West Texas organization with two other coaches from Dallas, Tom Bailey and Adam Lewis. Together, with the West Texas coaches, they ran two clinics. The first session was for the 2014-2010 players and they worked on the fundamentals, ball work and basic skills. The second session was for 2009-2005 players and they covered more game strategies and technical aspects.
“When we made the decision to come into Sting Soccer, it was important to us that we be connected to Sting’s other markets. Working together, across the board is to provide the best service of our players. We want to always make it clear to all of our teams that you may be a few hours away, but we are one club, one family. We want to all be working on the same principles, same ideas and have the attitude that we are one team. We all support each other no matter where you are located.”
Pitcock said. Meredith echoes that sentiment.
