Six Sting Dallas Teams Travel to San Diego for ECNL National Playoffs

#Dallas, Texas – June 24th, 2019 – Six teams will be playing in the #ECNL National Playoffs this weekend. Two teams, U13 and U18/19, will be playing for a national championship this week. The U14, U15, U16 and U17 teams will be playing in hopes of qualifying for the ECNL National Finals in Richmond, Virginia next month. Sting is one of the few clubs in the nation that had all six ECNL teams qualify for the Champions League.

The U13s won their conference finishing their season with a 13-1-4 record.  The team allowed only 9 goals in 18 games. No other team in any age group in the conference allowed fewer goals besides Sting U18/19 team. The team will face off against LAFC Slammers, PDA Blue and Internationals FC this week in group play. They will have to win their group for a chance to play in this weekend’s Semi-Final and Final. Wins this weekend will mean a national championship for the U13s.

The U14s finished 3rd in conference play which was enough for a berth to this week’s Champions League Playoffs.  The team finished the season 10-5-3. #Sting was drawn into Group A were they will meet PDA Blue, Internationals SC and Richmond United. They will have to win their group and a quarter-final in order to earn a spot at the finals in Richmond.

The U15s placed first in their conference finishing the season 14-3-1.  Their 54 goals scored is only one less than the bottom four teams’ goals scored combined. They will play #GSA, Utah Avalanche and Vardar in group play. Winning their group and quarter-final this week will see them off to Virginia with national championship aspirations.

The U16 team finished their season 14-3-1 which saw them finish second in the conference. They got drawn into Group D along with LAFC Slammers, Alabama FC and Colorado Rapids. Their path to a national championship is the same as all other Champions League playoffs. They are six wins away from winning a national title.

The U17s finished off the season in second place with a 11-4-3. Although finishing second, they still had the best goal differential in the conference. The team will face off against Concord Fire Platinum, PDA Blue and Crossfire United in Group G as they fight for one of four spots in the ECNL National Finals.

The U18/19 team finished the season with a perfect 18-0-0 record conceding only 8 goals in 18 games.  They are also scoring an impressive 4.39 goals per game. They will be the team to beat in San Diego as they are currently ranked #1 in the nation. They will play against Elite Girls Academy, #LAFC Slammers and Florida Elite. Winning the group will see them off to the semi-finals on June 30th. A win there will have them facing-off for the national title on July 1

Good Luck to all our teams this week as they go up against the best teams in the nation. Sting Soccer is hoping to repeat last season’s accomplishment of ECNL Overall Club Champions.
