FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Sting Austin adds a Sting Austin ECNL/Composite Director to the Staff – Beau Brown
Dallas, Texas – January 20, 2018 – After wrapping up the Fall Season in it’s inaugural year of the ECNL, Sting Austin will take another important step in propelling the ECNL program forward with the addition of long time Sting full time staff member Beau Brown. The Sting Organization recognized the need to further enhance the Sting Austin program and continue building on it’s solid foundation of staff by bringing in one of the top Coaches and Directors in the Sting organization. Beau will fill the role of Sting Austin ECNL/Composite Director, and both Oscar Draguicevich and Jessica Kim will continue to be instrumental in building Sting Austin. The three represent the core leadership staff that will continue to propel the Sting Austin Division to the next level. Oscar shares his excitement for the future of Sting Austin, “I am very excited to have Beau join the Sting Austin Staff. Beau is a fantastic coach that brings out the best of his players and has a proven track record of getting kids placed at the college level. Along with being a great coach, he is also a wonderful person, and I look forward to working with and supporting Beau as the new full time Sting Austin ECNL/Composite Director.”
Beau Brown has coached and played the game at the highest level. His playing career is highlighted with four seasons with the Dallas Sidekicks and three seasons with the Utah Freeze (WISL) where he holds the all-time record in points, goals, assists, power play goals, and game winning goals. He played two stints with the Tampa Bay Mutiny (MLS) and one year with the Lafayette Lightning (PDL) and won National MVP of the PDL for that year. He is also one of three soccer players in the Hall of Fame at West Texas A&M University.
Building on a storied playing career, Beau has also coached the game at every level. He began his career with the LFC Cajun Burn where a former player he coached, Joseph Laphira went on to play at Notre Dame and win a Herman Trophy. Beau moved on to coach with the Sting Organization, where he has been for the past 12 years. He has coached every level of team within the organization but in recent years has been responsible for developing the Sting Composite program in Dallas which is focused on the retention and development of Composite teams/players and the interactive process of those players with the ECNL program. He simultaneously served as the Sting Dallas ECNL Director this past year. Outside of Sting, Beau also coached the DFW Tornadoes who finished second overall in the PASL and assisted coaching the North Texas United PDL Team. In his years as a coach he has graduated over 150 young females, many with scholarships, that went to play at the collegiate level at schools ranging from the Power 5 Conference to DIII Academic Institutions.
Brent Coralli, Owner/Principal of the Sting Organization describes Beau’s role within Sting Austin, “Beau’s job in Austin is to grow, develop, and implement exactly what was accomplished in Dallas, making Sting Austin ECNL and Composite programs amongst the top in the country. Sting Austin has come a long way in a short amount of time, growing from a few lower level teams four years ago to recently obtaining the only ECNL tag for Austin. This was not only accomplished by the Sting Soccer Organization and Director of Soccer, Kenneth Medina, but in large part due to the leadership and commitment of Oscar and Jessica.”
Kenneth Medina, Director of Soccer for the Sting Soccer Organization echoes the sentiment, “Oscar and Jessica have done tremendously well with the support of the Sting Organization in building Sting Austin. With Sting Austin being the only ECNL club in the Austin area, there is a tremendous opportunity and need to dedicate full time resources in order to continue to propel the program forward. I have worked with Beau for over 10 years and know first hand his strength as a coach, but moreover his passion and dedication to being the very best. Sting Austin will continue to thrive under his leadership, and I look forward to seeing Beau, Oscar, and Jessica work to develop the Sting Austin program into national prominence.”
Sting Austin will have several Player Opportunity Events throughout the Spring and in preparation for ECNL and Composite team formation in May .
