The Little Stingers program  is  a pre-developmental program designed to develop the basic soccer skills for players ages 4, 5 and 6.  Employing the same coaches that train Academy age and Competitive age players within the Sting Soccer Club, the Little Stingers program offers coaching expertise to develop the fundamental movements and skills of the game at the youngest ages.

The program is structured so that young players train twice per week in skills sessions indoors. One session per week focuses on developing the basic skills of dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, and heading. The second session each week focuses on small sided 4v4 games where the young players are taught how to use the skills they have learned in a small-sided game situation.

Small sided games are highly recommended to foster player development because of the increased number of touches, decisions, opportunities to attack and defend, score goals and make saves. A small-sided training environment teaches young players to become more skillful in smaller spaces, become quicker in their decision making, and transition quickly to different parts of  the game. Because there are fewer players on the field, coaches are able to give each player more individual attention and therefore have a larger impact on how a player learns from a game situation, this is especially important at the youngest ages. Additionally small sided games are fun for young players and give them the opportunity to learn and grow in the game of soccer without the added pressure of full-sided matches.

The Little Stingers program provides quality skills training and small sided game experience at an early age and creates a fun environment for young players to develop and grow.
